On February 3-4, 2024, the famous Altitoy race is back!

Chalet La Source Cauterets Altitoy2The Altitoy returns in force on February 3 and 4, 2024, for two days of colorful competition, ski-alinism in the heart of the Gavarnie valleys.

A race which, since 2011, brings together the elite of the discipline and counts for the challenge of the Great Race, with 5 other events in France and Italy.

Go to the slopes of Barèges-Tourmalet-Pic du Midi and the Luz-Ardiden massif, to attend this unmissable event!

 


In the Pyrenees ski touring paradise that are the Gavarnie valleys , on February 3 and 4, 2024 will mark the comeback of the Altitoy, an international ski-alpineism competition.

In total for this 14th edition, 600 competitors, divided by ropes of 2 team members will challenge the two courses:
- a "A" course for the elite, with almost 5,000 meters of elevation on the two days of racing;
- And for amateur practitioners and young people a softer "B" course

Launched by the Franco-Spanish Association Altitoy , this test has become the reference race for ski-alinence in the Pyrenees, both by its technical difficulty and by its popular character.

The Altitoy is also the great gathering of the Pyrenees around ski-alineism, in a memorable atmosphere : each relay, it is a concert of applause and bells!

Chalet La Source Cauterets Altitoy4Fans will be able to endure their team especially during the climb on the Col du Tourmalet on Saturday, and in Caperett on Sunday.

The 2024 edition of the Altitoy promises to be magnificent once again. An appointment that promises to gain strength, with a long-distance world championship online, in preparation for the 2026 Olympic Games where ski mountaineering will enter as Olympic discipline.
